How did your club start?
Golf & Gaming Club (GGC) dates to October 2020, a time when the world was grappling with the challenges of the pandemic. With in-person video gaming events at a standstill, the club emerged as a response to the void, organizing a tournament specifically tailored for content creators and individuals in the gaming industry.
The inaugural event, generously sponsored by Coca-Cola, took place at Shadow Creek GC in Las Vegas. The success of this tournament sparked immense interest, leading to a surge in inquiries from individuals eager to join the club. Fast forward to the present, and the GGC has hosted tournaments for 35 consecutive months.
The club boasts 160 members, a dynamic mix of gaming and entertainment executives, influencers, professional athletes and more. Together, these members command a social reach of over 150 million across various social media platforms. Such widespread influence has fueled the club’s popularity, evident in the substantial waiting list of more than 1,400 individuals
What is the mission of your club?
The GGC is dedicated to achieving three primary objectives: 1) Serve as a networking platform for individuals in the gaming and entertainment industry; 2) Provide a venue for golf enthusiasts to engage in semi-competitive play; and 3) Introduce the game of golf to a new generation of enthusiasts.
What makes your club unique?
What sets the GGC apart is the incredible vibe created by our members. We take the time to really get to know potential new additions through interviews, making sure they’re not just joining a club but becoming part of our awesome community. Our main rule is “no jerks allowed.”
What can your members expect when they join your club?
We’re all about giving our members the experience they’re looking for. Whether they’re in it for networking and work talk or hoping to discover a close-knit circle of friends that extends beyond the golf course, we tell them: You get out of the club what you put into it. We’re putting them in the cart with amazing people — the rest is up to them.
On a scale of super casual to Sunday at the Masters, how competitive does your club get?
We do like a bit of friendly competition, but it’s all in good fun and just for bragging rights. At our last event, for example, winners walked away with some playful plastic trophies, while even the last-place finisher scored big with $800 worth of top-notch equipment from Taylormade, Students Golf and Blue Tees. It’s not just about the competition; it’s about creating that unbeatable vibe for everyone involved.
What types of events does your club offer?
We’ve got a ton of cool stuff happening all the time! Monthly member-only tournaments, mixed with special hangouts like VIP invites to awesome events, parties and nights at Topgolf. We’re just trying to give people a reason to get together more.
What’s on the horizon?
In the short term, we’re on a mission to uncover fresh perks, exciting experiences, and uncover new courses. Our long-term goal is to expand the club’s reach while holding on to that unique community spirit that makes us who we are.
