More Than Golf: Camaraderie at Silverhart Golf On & Off The Fairways

What started as a small group of 15 women who regularly played golf during the pandemic has now transformed into a flourishing new SCGA member club called Silverhart Golf. Open to anyone who loves the game, Silverhart Golf brings enthusiastic golfers together, and has grown from the original close-knit group to an impressive 75 members in just eight months.

The secret to this growth?

“Well, the club’s popularity has spread primarily through word-of-mouth referrals,” said founder Barbara Silver. “But our lineup of golf events and social outings has kept the momentum going and our members coming back for more!”

Silver utilized her outgoing personality and passion for the game to build relationships with Orange County golf courses and start her own club. With more than a dozen premier golf courses scheduled on their yearly calendar, members can sign up for a wide variety of venues, formats and times at discounted rates.

The highly anticipated monthly “Sterling Events” held at upscale golf clubs continue to attract many members and generate excitement. The prestigious Coto de Caza Golf & Racquet Club will be the site of a nine-hole shotgun and holiday party later this year, marking the club’s first anniversary.

“WE HAVE BECOME A FAMILY OF INSPIRING, COMMITTED AND SUPPORTIVE GOLFERS. SILVERHART GOLF IS TRULY MORE THAN JUST GOLF.”

Silverhart Golf continues the camaraderie beyond the 19th hole, having organized two-night golf getaways to destinations such as Palm Desert, where they will play two rounds of golf in the Coachella Valley. Paso Robles in spring 2022 will include 18 holes of golf and a wine tour. Additionally, social events such as wine tastings at local restaurants allow members to get together off the course and socialize after hours.

Silver’s goal is to double the club’s size in 2022 while still maintaining the same intimate feel they’ve had from the beginning. Silver herself said she is never shy to stop people who might play golf and proudly say, “Let me tell you about my group.”

The big idea, she says, is to bring top-tier experiences to all members and help them perfect their game while making new friends in the process. “We are a fun, welcoming group who love to play organized golf in Southern California. We have become a family of inspiring, committed and supportive golfers. Silverhart Golf is truly more than just golf.”
