Golfers using the GHIN® (Golf Handicap Information Network®) system have a new reason to get excited about their rounds: the Games/Score Keeping feature is now available for free to all users. This tool enhances the social and competitive experience of golf by allowing players to track group matches in real time, directly through the GHIN mobile app.

With the Games/Score Keeping feature, users can set up stroke-play or match-play formats before teeing off. As the round progresses, scores and match results update live, keeping the competitive spirit alive from the first hole to the last. Whether you’re playing a casual round with friends or organizing a friendly weekend match, this feature makes it easy to follow the action and determine who’s taking home bragging rights.

MATCH PLAY OPTIONS:

▪ Match Play (Net): Handicap strokes are applied and based off the golfer with the lowest Playing Handicap. (Note: For Net matches, dots on the scorecard indicate when and where a handicap stroke is applied — based on the difference in Playing Handicaps.)
▪ Match Play (Gross): No strokes applied — this is true head-to-head play.

What makes this even better is its simplicity. Users can create a group match with just a few taps, add GHIN-connected playing partners and start tracking scores immediately. The intuitive interface ensures that golfers of all tech levels can enjoy the benefits without hassle. So whether you’re planning your next foursome or heading out solo and want to see how you stack up against friends later, open the GHIN app and try the Games/Score Keeping feature today — it’s free, easy and built to bring your game to life.
